Prokofiev 5!

The semester is over and, though the weather hasn't quite caught on, summer is here! I've actually been working all week, finishing various tasks and trying to get caught up on the endless stream of emails that plagues my inbox. Before I take some much-needed time off, though, I am incredibly delighted to be playing with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic this week, as we are playing one of my absolute favorite orchestral works. If you don't know Prokofiev's Fifth Symphony, I highly recommend you listen to it. It's just incredible. The concert is at 7:30 on Saturday at the Embassy Theater in downtown Fort Wayne, and also features Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet Overture, and the Arutiunian Trumpet Concerto, with Tom Hooten on trumpet. He's principal trumpet of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, so I'm sure he'll be amazing.

I'll be blogging sporadically this summer, as I do have a number of exciting events. I'll let you know more about them as the summer goes on.

Happy practicing!
