Showcase Concert!

Saturday evening the BSU School of Music presents its Showcase concert. It's a an event that shows off various ensembles within the school, and I'm very excited that this year, the Ball State University Viola Choir (BSUVC) will be part of the program! The VC has grown in numbers this year, as this awesome photo from Monday's rehearsal shows.

It's especially fun this semester because, in addition to more students, we also have three faculty members who are playing. I think the students enjoy making music with professors. I definitely enjoy coaching the group. Of course our fearless conductor, Michael Lund Ziegler, helps rehearsals run smoothly and efficiently. I'm a terrible conductor, so am very lucky that he enjoys donating his time to work with the VC.

The piece the BSUVC will perform on Saturday is conductor-less, and really awesome. So, if you're in the Muncie area, please come out and support the School of Music and the BSUVC. Tickets are $20 and the proceeds go directly to student scholarships. How great is that? The show starts at 8 PM in Sursa Hall.

Happy practicing!
