Tomorrow evening is the Ball State University Viola Choir's final concert of 2015. The show is at 7:30 PM in Choral Hall, and is free and open to the public. It's been a really stellar year, and I'm so very proud of their achievements. It's a big group this semester, too, will eleven violists! At the dress rehearsal this evening, I was truly marveling at the sound of eleven violas playing at the same time. No, do not insert a viola joke here. I truly was moved. There is such a range of sounds that the instrument can make, from deep and sonorous to high and singing, and everything in between. I know the history of viola jokes, so understand why they're around, but I truly think it's time for them to stop. I mean, seriously-- it is an instrument completely unparalleled. Totally beautiful!
So. Please come support the BSUVC. They sound great, and even have a little surprise towards the end of the show.
