A few months ago the American Viola Society announced a new and special opportunity for early-career violists. I applied, and recently learned that I have been selected to teach a master class at the AVS national conference in June 2014 as part of the new "Rising Star" series! I am incredibly excited about this opportunity, and just purchased my ticket to Los Angeles, where the conference will be held at the Colburn School.
There's really not much else to say... I've sat staring at the last paragraph for quite a while, trying to come up with something else to add, but that's really it-- I'm excited! It will be my first AVS conference, and I can imagine it'll be as inspiring as the ASTA conference I went to a few weeks ago, but in a more-concentrated way, as it will be ALL VIOLA! Wow! It will be an excellent opportunity to geek out with other violists. And in my world, that's really fun. :)
