Tonight I have the pleasure of performing with the Texas Tech Women's Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Carolyn Cruse, who has become one of my closest friends here in Lubbock. It's a real honor playing with these amazing women-- their voices are powerful and moving, and I am enjoying this experience very much. I am playing on their final selection of the evening, a piece by Abbie Betinis, who is only 32 or 33! Beautiful and inspiring music: From Behind the Caravan: Songs of Hafez.
I love that in my profession I get to collaborate on projects I otherwise would never have thought to seek out. These last weeks working with Dr. Cruse and the Women's Chorale has inspired me to listen to more choral music, and has expanded my accompanying skills. Plus I've had a great time!
