Texas Tech has an organ that was recently restored. The big rededication concert was this afternoon. I am especially proud of the TTU Orchestra! They sounded really great in Respighi's Church Windows, a four movement piece with organ. The organ sounds great! I'm always amazed by the different sounds an organ can produce. It must be such a work out playing organ, what with all of those stops and keyboards and foot pedals!
This evenings was the first LSO rehearsal for the first Masterworks concert. We are playing Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony, among other works. This is one of my absolute favorite pieces. I don't think I could ever get tired of playing it, though I am once again humbled by the difficulty of the viola part. Lots of orchestral practice this week!
So with that, happy practicing. :)
