I'm performing for Ballet Lubbock's production of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. We had our first performance tonight, though it was an outreach concert, so the hall was mostly filled with young children. The audience was loud but seemed to enjoy the performance.

I'm in the pit, of course, as I am no dancer (!), and I can hardly see what is going on on stage. But if what I see back stage is any indication, it seems to be an extravagant and beautiful production. That's always the worst part about being in a pit-- you don't get to see what is happening on stage!

So the week has been a lot more busy than I had anticipated, and I still haven't submitted all of my grades-- must do that tomorrow. I leave town on Monday and feel like there is such limited time to get done everything that needs to be done, especially with ballet performances all weekend, ack!

Life is definitely incredibly busy these days. I hope to get a little resting in when I go on vacation next week.

Happy practicing!
